The Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry offered a multi-level Sustainable Supply Chain Manager training programme for companies from Southern Africa. Last Friday, the final session of the “Sustainable Supply Trainings” took place.
The participants who attended the course presented the results that could be directly implemented in the company and supply chains. The participants learned about the broad landscape of existing sustainability standards and due diligence expectations driven by customers, society, financial markets as well as developing legal requirements, in particular in Europe and Germany. The importance of the topic was also underlined by Dr Christopher Schmidt, First Secretary & Spokesperson of the German Embassy in Pretoria, in his welcome address at the beginning of the closing session. On behalf of the SAGCC, we would like to thank you very much for your participation and contribution to this event. Thanks to Mr. Philipp Glaeser from GIZ’s BSfD program for his closing words on the event.
